10．認識神
“認識你，……這就是永生”（約十七3）。
在屬靈的生命裏，認識神是絕對需要的。這就是永生。這認識並不是人告訴我們的，也不是我們自己想出來的，乃是在生活的經歷裏，神將他自己啟示在我們心裏。這位活神照出他那賜生命的、聖潔慈愛的光線，給那些等候他的人，正像寒冬的日光使我們的身體溫暖一樣。
為什麼我們對於真認識神而有的賜生命的能力缺少經歷呢？這就是因為我們沒有給神夠多的時間讓他來啟示他自己。當我們禱告的時候，我們總是想，我們已經很知道如何向神說話。我們卻忘了禱告的時候，第一件事就是要安靜在神面前，讓神來啟示他自己，藉著他隱藏而有大能的力量，顯出他的同在，住在我們裏面作工。真的，只有在個人的經歷上，認識神的同在和他的慈爰，才是生命。
也許你曾聽見過勞倫斯弟兄。他非常盼望要認識神，他屬靈的指導者給他一些祈禱文的書，可是他卻把這些書擺在一邊。他說，如果我不認識那聽我禱告的神，這些東西對於我的禱告，並不能有多少的幫助。他相信神要啟示他自己。他來到這位偉大聖潔的神面前，滿心感覺他的同在，用很長的時間來安靜地敬拜。他繼續這一個操練，到後來他就活在一個不斷的與神同在裏面，經歷了神的親近和保守的能力。每日早晨太陽升起，便保證整日都有亮光，照樣，當我們每天早晨安靜等候神，降服我們自己，讓他來光照我們，他的同在和能力也保證整天的隨著我們。所以你該能確定地說，太陽已經在你裏面升起來了。
要學習這一個偉大的功課，就是學習太陽每天所宣告的。在寒冬太陽怎樣照著我們，使我們溫暖，同樣要相信說，那活神要用他的愛和大能作工在你裏面。他要向那些等候他的人啟示說，他是生命，亮光，喜樂和能力。
“耶和華啊，求你仰起臉來，光照我們”（詩四6）。
“當安靜，要知道我是神”（詩四十六10另譯）。

I'm trying to find the scripture that supports your statement.
From searching the scriptures I understand from God's Word that before we came to Christ we were dead in our sins. (Ephesians 2:1) But because of his great love for His children, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.(Ephesians 2:4-5).
Grace is unmerited favor towards a sinner.
It doesn't make sense to say that an unbeliever does not know God because they did not give God enough time for him to reveal Himself. There is no scripture to support that so I kindly want to share why I believe otherwise.
In Romans 9:16 it is written, "So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy."
And in John 3:3 it is written, "Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
The law of God condemns everyone that does not know God. (Romans 6:23) And unbelievers are without excuse when they stand before God. (Romans 1:20)
Of course people can claim to know God while God does not know them and they are lost.
As Jesus said and it is written in Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
Christians need to share the Word of Christ with unbelievers. (Romans 10:17) So that God may show mercy on them.
We must use the law as the school master that leads them to Christ so that they may be justified by faith. (Galatians 3:24)
Knowing that salvation is not of works so that no man may boast before God. Ephesians 2:8-9
And reason with unbelievers to "Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near." Isaiah 55:6
That they may be like the tax gatherer who, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!' (Luke 18:13)
"God resist the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6)
